NEW ALTERNATIVE PROJECT
Your tribe may choose to present your body system information by using ThingLink.com, a Web 2.0 tool that allows you to make images interactive by adding text, video, and audio. Your THINGLINK must include the following information:
A diagram of the body system
, main parts
text boxes that explain the function and any interdependence on other systems or organs. You may find a diagram by looking on the following websites (diagrams may already be labeled or not):
(good for video images)
(good for body system diagrams)
Free Digital Photos
(good for body system images, some diagrams and other images)
(good for video images)
(good for finding images for your videos)
You may search on Bing.com, but be sure that the image you decide to use does NOT have a name, watermark, or the copyright symbol on it or under it.
A video created by your group (this is optional)
YOUR VIDEO OR SLIDESHOW MUST ADDRESS HOW TO KEEP YOUR BODY SYSTEM HEALTHY, WITH TIPS. You should use the links given on the Challenge 3 Health Research Resources page (see navigation sidebar) in this wiki and include a minimum of 3 tips on how to keep that system healthy.
To make your video you may choose from the following options:
Use PhotoStory - find images that go with your health tips (again images must be COPYRIGHT FREE), narrate tips with your voices. (You can choose to start your Photostory by making a powerpoint, save the file as a jpeg file, upload the powerpoint jpeg images into PHOTOSTORY and then narrate with your voices.
However, if you choose to create a powerpoint, please be sure NOT to fill it up with TEXT. Remember, you will be narrating it, so you want it to be visual, NOT wordy.
You can also use
on the iPad! ShowMe allows you to create a 'tutorial' so to speak using images, writing and narration. Click on the ShowMe link above to find out more about it.
IF YOU DO NOT CHOOSE TO MAKE A VIDEO, YOUR THINGLINK MUST STILL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 TIPS ON HOW TO KEEP YOUR SYSTEM HEALTHY.
IF YOU DO NOT CHOOSE TO MAKE A THINGLINK PROJECT, YOUR BODY SYSTEM PROJECT MUST STILL INCLUDE AT LEAST 3 TIPS ON HOW TO KEEP THE SYSTEM HEALTHY.
All information, including your health tips
MUST BE IN YOUR OWN WORDS! (TAKE NOTES IN BULLET POINTS, THEN REWRITE THE NOTES IN YOUR OWN SENTENCES.)
YOUR THINGLINK must contain a tag with the INTERNET ADDRESSES of websites you used for your project. You will call that 'WORKS CITED' and copy and paste the URLs under it. (For example, the PowerKnowledge Science Database; KidsHealth.org).
Your first step is to find AN IMAGE to make interactive. PLEASE BE SURE THAT THE IMAGE IS COPYRIGHT FREE. YOU SHOULD NOT SEE A LITTLE C WITH A CIRCLE AROUND IT OR A PERSON'S NAME ON THE IMAGE!! PLACES TO FIND COPYRIGHT FREE IMAGES:
The image may already be labeled, but make sure you have a text box tag on each part that is labeled on the diagram.
